Pupil involvement in decision making is often referred to as 'pupil voice'. Pupil voice is about pupils having the opportunity to have a say in the decisions made by the school community.
We greatly value the thoughts and opinions of our pupils and, as a result, have a wide range of pupil voice groups within our school. These groups represent their peers and ensure the views of all our children are heard and can help shape the direction of changes and improvements to our school.
Our pupil leadership team extends from Y1-Y6. Everybody at our school is a leader and has a 'voice' even if they do not have a specific leadership role eg. through being 'Playground Pals' in the playground, being on duty on the Reception playground and through being an example to others during Buddy Reading activities just to name a few.
The pupils wrote their own job descriptions. Click below to find out what each role involves.
More recent additions to our pupil leader and pupil voice team include Science Technicians and Reading Leaders. Also, keep an eye open for any pupils wearing a special yellow 'merit' badge. These are awarded to pupils for excellent leadership across the school.
Ideally, our pupil leaders would contribute to a half term newsletter to keep us up to date with what is happening. (Click here for an example from the previous academic year). Watch this space!
